As many of you know we run three different stores … Lohman Trading on ArtFire, Lohman Trading on Etsy, and Simple Treasures Collage on eBay. The ArtFire store is our newest one and it is by far the most interesting one.

We have slowly been increasing our offerings on ArtFire … we recently added the individual Trees Rubber Stamps and ArtFire is our cheapest location for EZ Mount Foam … and we would really like to increase our offerings even more. ArtFire is the most innovative of the 3 locations and they are offering buyers and sellers some great new features … including the ability to shop without creating an account and in the next month or so we will be able to offer all of you some great coupons and discounts !

We are considering moving most our our items from our Etsy store to our ArtFire store and maybe some day down the line moving our eBay store over to ArtFire. We may eventually close both our eBay and Etsy stores.

My question to all of you is …
Have you purchased items on ArtFire before ? Maybe one of our Foam Packs ? What do you think about the shopping experience on ArtFire ? Is ArtFire a place where you will continue to shop ? From a buyers standpoint, do you like eBay, Etsy, or ArtFire more ?

Artist / Crafter: Kimmi Lohman
This was our family Christmas card for 2006 … handcrafted by Kimmi. It features stamped images from Stampington rubber stamps and a wide ribbon in “spruce green”. The torn edges of the layered papyrus colored paper have been distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

I just love the old, distressed feel of this card. Makes for a great “Victorian Christmas” !

Artist / Crafter: Kimmi Lohman

About a week ago kimmi said she was going to take a little break from crafts for a couple of weeks and just collect some ideas. Well, that lasted for a day or two before she created these beautiful cards.

She used the flower stamp from the Stampin’ Up set Nature’s Wonders which she inked in black and then stamped onto different colored cardstock. The squares were then cut out and applied to the greeting card. The finishing touch is the word ” friendship ” from the Stampin’ Up set Wonderful Words stamped in white across the front of the card.

This is a bright, cheerful card made with the Posh Impressions Butterfly Kisses duet rubber stamp set. Kimmi made crafted this card in the spring of 2005 to use in her Summer RAK’s.

The background is white, glossy card stock distressed in a yellow ink with multiple “quick stampings” of the solid butterfly. That is then applied to a flat black card stock with a flat black card stock band. The center image is the solid butterfly stamp with the black outline stamped over the top. This is done on bright white card stock. Kim used Marvy Markers to ink the stamps as opposed to a stamp pad.

Buttons from old shirts, jackets, and pants can make fantastic and unique embellishments. Some of the vintage buttons can add style to your project that you just cannot get from a mass-produced brad or eyelet. The best part … many of us probably already have a drawer full of stray buttons that could easily be used for embellishments. If you don’t, you can usually find boxes full of buttons at yard sales or at your local thrift store.

Attach the button(s) to your craft project using double sided tape, glue, or simply sew it to the paper. Personally, I would go for the sewing as I believe it adds extra uniqueness and style to the project. Use cardstock for your project if you are going to sew as it will be less likely to tear.
