Cliff – poem

September 24, 2009, Posted by Christopher at 7:34 pm

At the edge,
Pebbles,
The rocks let loose,
Crumble and fall under my feet,
My feet, my mind,
Want to jump.
Go,
Fly,
Sail,
Jump,
Fall.

No need,
No push,
No knowledge of this,
Didn’t jump,
Still falling.
Wind,
Breezy,
Falling,
Faster.

How?
Why?
Won’t stop,
Can’t stop.
No,
Yes,
To late.
The rocks let go,
The edge vanished,
Nothing to hold me back,
All resistance ended,
I fell,
Falling.

Time goes by,
The cliff goes by,
Rocks go by,
Faster,
Faster,
Wind,
Hard to breathe,
Heart pounds,
Still falling for you.

I fall and hope,
Hope love will be my pillow,
Fall and catch,
Love and you,

Will you be there ?
Will you catch me ?
Will you hold me again ?
Hold me and let me say,
Let me say the three words that make this fall,
Make this fall the sweetest journey.

The second verse really caught my attention — I wasn’t expecting the jump.
