This picture was taken while sitting on Agate Beach (Patrick’s Point Campground, Northern California). The view in this picture is of the general area of the trail heading down to the beach. Patrick’s Point State Campground is in the middle of the trees shown in the picture.
My wife and I used to go camping at Patrick’s Point annually until we moved too far away in 2001. Rockhounding is great on the beach as there are some beautiful agates and quartz that have been polished by the waves. We used to sit down there for hours looking for interesting stones.
When I was a kid my parents brought to this location a few times and I always had a blast. The “sand cliff” shown in the picture used to have a cave carved in it about 75 to 100 feet up. I used to love going in that cave !
